Metzger's Traditional Favorites

All entrées include your choice of two side dishes

German Sauerbraten

Metzger's House Specialty Since 1928 - Slow roasted choice beef, carefully marinated in wine, vinegar, and spices. Served with a sour cream gravy.

Fresh Sautéed Veal Bavaria

Milk fed veal, pan sautéed to order, served with a light German wine sauce.

German Rouladen (Friday, Saturday and Sunday only)

Choice round of beef, rolled and stuffed with onions, bacon, pickles, mustard and spices. Baked in a fresh tomato beef sauce.

Schnitzel

A tender breaded pork cutlet.

  • Served with Jäger sauce: Sautéed fresh peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and wine.
  • Served ála Holstein: With a fried egg.*
  • Served with Mushroom Sauce.
  • Served Zigeuner: With sautéed onions, mushrooms and green peppers.

The Zigeuner Steak*

A boneless Angus Beef top sirloin steak topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms and green peppers.

German Meat Patties

Fresh ground round, melded with onions and spices, then grilled. Served with homemade German gravy.

Zwiebelrostbraten*

Slow roasted prime rib topped with rich brown gravy and fried onions.

Jägerbraten*

Our slow roasted Angus Beef prime rib of beef topped with our Jäger sauce of sautéed fresh peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and wine.

Kassler Rippchen

Two grilled smoked pork loin chops. A tradition in Hessen.

German Style Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Krautrouladen stuffed with rice, ground beef and spices. Topped with a rich tomato sauce.

German Style Chicken Livers

Sautéed in butter and white wine served with natural onion rings.

Metzger's Omelettes*

Begin with a plain omelette and add any of the following - Onions, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Ham, Swiss cheese, Fresh Tomatoes.

Seafood and Chicken

Includes 2 sides unless indicated.

Fresh Lake Perch

A Metzger's house specialty. Served either lightly breaded and pan sautéed or fried Northern Michigan style.

Fresh Lake Superior Whitefish

Choose pan fried or broiled. Served with fresh lemon & tartar sauce.

Charbroiled Salmon Filet

A flaky filet served glazed with lemon and dill or BBQ style.

Fresh Catch of the Day

Please ask your server.

Deep Fried Jumbo Shrimp

Served with lemon and cocktail sauce.

Pasta Primavera

Penne or spätzle with fresh vegetables in a light butter wine sauce. With choice of one side dish.

  • With grilled steak.
  • With grilled chicken.
  • With grilled shrimp.

Chicken Vienna

Chicken breast breaded with ground mustard and lightly pan fried. Great with spätzle and red cabbage.

Sesame Chicken

Boneless breast, lightly breaded with sesame seed crust and pan fried. Served with mushroom sauce on the side.

Jäger Chicken

Tender boneless breast of chicken, pan fried and topped with provolone cheese and our famous Jäger sauce.

Honey Dijon Chicken

A glazed and grilled boneless chicken breast. Served on rice pilaf with burgundy mushrooms. Served with a choice of one side dish.

Wursts and Platters

These are complete dinners.

German Bratwurst

A lightly spiced veal sausage smothered in caramelized onions. A favorite in the Black Forest. Served with spätzle and Bavarian red cabbage.

German Mettwurst

A smoked pork and beef sausage, a little spicy. Served with spätzle and sauerkraut.

German Knackwurst

A delightful, mild, all beef sausage. Served with spätzle and sauerkraut.

Haus Platter for Two

Wiener Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Mettwurst, Knockwurst, spätzle, sauerkraut, red cabbage, potato salad and house salad or soup of the day. (No substitutions please).

Bavarian Platter for Two

One Kassler Rippchen, one Knackwurst and one Bratwurst served with spätzle and red cabbage. Includes salad or soup. (No substitutions please).

“Wurst” Platte

One link of German Bratwurst Knackwurst and Mettwurst. Served with spätzle and sauerkraut.

Rheinischer Sampler

Half order of Wiener Schnitzel and Sauerbraten. Served with spätzle and red cabbage.

Pig Hocks

Served with spätzle and sauerkraut.

Smoked Pork Shanks

Served with spätzle and sauerkraut.

American Entrees

Includes 2 sides.

Prime Rib of Beef*

Slow roasted 14 oz. beef prime rib served with natural au jus. A Metzger favorite.

Filet Mignon*

A 10 oz. Angus Beef tenderloin filet served with fresh burgundy mushrooms.

New York Strip Steak*

16 oz. Angus Beef New York strip.

Sirloin Sizzler Steak*

12 oz. sizzler steak served with fresh onion rings.

Sautéed Beef Liver

Sautéed and served with onions, mushrooms or bacon.

Center Cut Pork Chops

Two 8 oz. chops, charbroiled to perfection.
Choose broiled with Metzger's own honey BBQ sauce.
